Qatar National Bank (QNB), one of the largest financial institutions in the Middle East and North Africa, announced that it will use the technology of blockchain company Ripple for international payments.
In a statement from QNB, it was stated that Ripple signed an agreement to launch a remittance platform based on blockchain technology.
According to the news in Bloomberg, it was stated that Ripple’s global financial network technology RippleNet will be used for the first time in Turkey by QNB Finansbank.
It was noted that QNB plans to improve border payment payments and develop remittance service with the agreement.
Heba Al Tamimi, General Manager of QNB Retail Banking Group, stated that the agreement with Ripple (XRP) is an innovative step taken by QNB to offer the best products to its customers.
