Kosovo bans Bitcoin mining
There is an energy crisis in Kosovo. The problem in electricity production in the country affects life negatively. Measures are being taken to resolve this problem.
After high global prices and the failure of the country’s largest coal power plant, an energy crisis began to occur and a power outage was implemented in the country as a solution.
In the country, where electricity is given for 2 hours every 8 hours, citizens protested the cuts and demanded the resignation of the Minister of Energy. In addition to power outages, cryptocurrency mining is also banned in the country.

On the grounds that the machines used in cryptocurrency mining consume too much energy, Kosovo Energy Minister Artane Rizvanolli announced that cryptocurrency mining was banned in order to prevent the energy crisis in the country. Kosovo, which until recently had the cheapest electricity tariffs, imports 40 percent of its energy.
He banned cryptocurrency mining in the country due to the fact that it consumes too much energy in China and Iran.
